Back in the Burg

I'm back in FREEZING COLD Idaho for fall 2k13! It's really not that cold but I had my 8am math class this morning and I've been cold since then because it was 36 degrees this morning!
I knew fall was going to be fun because I was rooming with my best friends but it has been SO fun. It is so nice being comfortable in my own home and being able to decorate and make it fun. I room with my friends Haley, Kiersten, Ashley and Hannah, though Hannah is not my friend, just my sister. Our 6th roommate is a random and she's a freshman from Provo, Utah. She's super chill and a good addition to the group.
I-Night reunion with spring semester!

We excited for Kiersty to be back.

Every night is so fun with these girls even if I am getting NO sleep!
All in all I am excited for what fall has to offer.

Spring Semester was the business.

Spring Semester has been over for a while and what a wonderful semester it was.
Spring is Idaho is absolutely amazing. And I love Idaho.
Yes, it's true. This state has my heart.
I thought it'd be weird to go to school during summertime but I loved it! I loved all my classes and I made all As and Bs, holla.
And I had time to have the most fun I've ever had with some the most fun people.
Spring was very fun and just made me more excited about fall semester in a couple weeks.

BYU-Idaho part 3 Let's Go.
Laser Tag, surprisingly our team lost.

LOVE these girls in our ward so much.

Hawaiian party in Idaho...

I dont even know honestly.

Proud To Be.

This was the first July 4th I have spend away from home but it happened to be my FAVORITE.
Hannah was in Montana and so the rest of us planned a fun weekend.
So school ended for me Wednesday so we immediately had a sleepover in the living room and watched Temptation.
Judge me. It's a bomb movie.
                                                         -mattresses for days-
-dressed for school and success-
Thursday was the 4th so we went to the Rexburg Parade! It was so fun and a good way to start off the day.
-Rexburg parade-
That night we hit up Idaho Falls for the fireworks! We got there really early to get a good spot and then got some food, played games, harmonized, you know the usual until the fireworks started. There were so many people there and it was so great to celebrate with everyone.
-party hardy-
-Mitt Romney shirt that says "He's More Man"-
Friday a few of us had class so we just spend the day doing homework and studying. Much needed studying. Saturday night we woke up early for the 5K Color Run at Porter Park! A lot of people were there and we were all so excited! It was probably one of the funnest things i have ever done and I can not wait to do it again!

After the Color Run we ate some Jimmy Johns and drove to Monkey Rock to clean off in the river! We heard it stains in shower so we washed off the majority of the chalk in the river.
It was freezing.
The rest of the day consisted sleeping and watching movies, haha.
When Hannah came home that night a few of us went to Costa Vida and ended up sitting in the car for 2 a few hours talking! OOPS. Oh well, it was really fun to catch up and talk.

This weekend consists of sparklers, chick-fil-a, dancing in the car, a lot of red, white and blue attire and straight fun with my best friends in the great US of A!

Memorial Day

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and a lot of people are gone for the long weekend. I contemplated going to Provo for a few days but decided to get some stuff done in Rexburg.
And it was a great decision.
Friday we hung around my house and did homework. We're wild, I know. Then we decided to hit up our favorite new place to eat, Kari Anne's! It is an Italian ice/Frozen custard place that makes me want to melt.
Get it?
We invited a couple new friends to come with us and enjoy this AMAZING gelati! It was fun to have there company and get to know them!
We LOVE Karie Anne's!
After that Ashley, Haley, Hannah and I came back to 315 to watch a movie but it soon turned cray when someone started playing music and we jumped from bed to bed. All of Hannah's roommates were gone except our friend Emily so we could be as loud as we wanted to, so we took advantage of that.
Saturday morning we decided to go to the temple. I had never been to the Rexburg temple (i know, it's awful) and I had not been to the South Carolina temple since July 2012. It was so good to finally get back. We went at 9:30 and it was not crowded at all so we were in and out in an hour! I loved the temple so much and am going to try to go once a week.

Trip to the temple with these lovely ladies.
After the temple we drove to Mesa Falls an hour away. I have never even heard of them but knew they were some beautiful water falls by Ashton, Idaho.
I love Idaho but I also hate it sometimes too. This roadtrip to the falls though made me LOVE Idaho. It was such a pretty drive that ended with the most amazing waterfall I have ever seen! Literally almost passed out. So worth the trip to get there.
Panoramic shot of Mesa Falls
My Loves.
Such a fun day.

Road tripping is the best

You know me, just reacting Titanic...solo.
Since our wonderful friend Taylor Serge was in Utah this weekend and Emily was on a date, we had no access to a car for Saturday night. We decided to sign up for a We Car.
Yes, if you saw a red We Car yesterday, that was us. We are those people.
We were craving Chick-fil-a (southern girl probsss) so we drove to Idaho Falls. This was the first time I had driven since March and it felt amazing.
Also if you saw a red We Car yesterday that was swerving and running stop signs, that was me.
We ate and went shopping, it was so fun just to get out of Rexburg and into a "city" or what Idaho calls a city.
Pure Bliss.
Monday morning we were invited to play football by some guys in our ward. We went and were the only girls that showed up!
I don't know much we helped out but, actually that's a lie, I know we didn't help anyone win anything. We just ran around and say things like "Good hustle" or "Keep up with the quarterback" or "do the defence."
The point is my team lost.
But we had a blast and went to Costa Vida afterwards so it was all good.
We then went to hike the R. BYU-Idaho used to be Ricks College and there was a painted R on the side of the mountain that has overgrown now but it is still a beautiful hike.
I am not going to lie, I thought I was going to die on the way up. I was just going to lie on the hill and wait for sweet death.
But it got better and reaching the top and seeing the view was totally worth it! We ran around and climbed all the different rocks and took pictures.
I plan on doing it again soon, not too soon because i'm still sore.
Monday night was the Bachelorette, so we made sure we were all home and ready! We cooked hotdogs and had a little dinner while watching these sled dog boys try to win over Des!
But seriously they are not cute.
Reached the top surpisingly.

We won.

It has been a bomb couple days in the state of potatoes and dreams.

Just kidding about the dreams.

Rexburg is my Heart, well kinda.

So I got a blog the night before I left for my second semester of college. I have been so busy with getting adjusted to school again that I haven't blogged since.
I suck, but I'll get better.
So these last few weeks have been a blur of homework, walking to class, yummy salads at the MC, giving plasma, doing laundry, dance parties(in my room and out), Kiwi Loco and meeting some fun people.
It has been a blast and it only gets better everyday.
I love college so much. This semester has been way different than fall semester but still so fun. I love my ward and especially my amazing Relief Society! I have never had better lessons in church than in this ward. My classes are great and challenging but I like them all. Except math, math WILL be the death of me. Mark my words.
I love my roommate Haley. We met the first day of fall semester because we lived in the same dorms and we've been the best friends ever since. Being roommates has been so fun! We accidentally talk at night until the early hours or spontaneously start dancing or go make some cookies...so basically we never sleep.
Southern girls FOREVER.

struggling.
So Hannah lives across the hall with our friends Emily and Ashley from the fall so Haley and I are always over there. Ashley, Haley, Hannah and I are pretty much inseparable. We do everything together and I can't imagine this semester without them!
Hoes did not tell me they were taking a picture.
Cinco de Mayo y'all!
The Core Four (they dont know I call us that) hang out with our beautiful friend Taylor Serge on the daily. Haley met her in her humanities class in the fall and now she is one of my best friends. She is so sassy, mouthy, fun and up for anything! It's always a good time with her.
So the first weekend we went to a graffiti party and Taylor invited her friend from back home, Cassandra. We all connected with her so much and ended up hanging out all weekend all. Now she too is one of my best friends and I dont know what i'd do without her!

These five girls have made this semester banging already. We hang out with other people but these are my best friends and I could not ask for better!

Thursday, April 18

Hey Y'all.

This is my first ever blog post so no judgement because i might be terrible.
I start my second semester at BYU-Idaho tomorrow. I take a shuttle at 6:30am to Rexburg, Idaho. This is a compilation of my favorite things: shuttle rides and early mornings.
NOT.
I have been at home in Columbia, South Carolina since Christmas. Being home working for 4 months made me desperate to come back.
But as I sit here and type the night before I leave, I am a bag of mixed emotions.
I loved Idaho and had a wonderful first semester.
But leaving my family for the second time was somewhat harder than expected.
I thought it would be easier, but I was mistaken.
Even with this fact I am so excited to start my next semester at BYU-Idaho.
It is a great place to be especially if you like late nights, snow, meeting new people, dancing around and making memories.
Lucky for me, I love these things.
